The mystery puzzle book studio

Create Complete Mystery Puzzle Books for KDP — Without Building Every Puzzle by Hand

Cluevora builds each case — suspects, clues, floor plan and a step-by-step solution — checks that its logic holds, and assembles your cases into a print-ready book. Then take it further: whole batches of cases, kids' mystery books, paperback covers and a cast of your own.

The problem

A good mystery puzzle book is a lot of hidden work

Readers see a case to solve. Behind every page is a chain of decisions that has to hold together — and most of them are invisible until one breaks.
  • Designing a cast of suspects worth suspecting
  • Building a mystery that hangs together
  • Writing clues that never contradict each other
  • Making the murderer deducible — and only the murderer
  • Drawing a map the clues can point to
  • Laying out pages for the reader to work through
  • Writing a solution that follows the clues
  • Formatting the book, the cover and the print files

Cluevora brings those jobs into one studio.

Mystery Puzzle Studio

Create mystery puzzle books from simple controls

Choose the mystery type, difficulty, cast size and map style, then press Generate Mystery. Cluevora builds the whole case — suspects, clues, floor plan and a step-by-step solution — checks that its logic holds, and places it in your book.

  • Four mystery types: Classic Whodunit, The Accomplice, The Tell-Tale and Grand Mystery
  • 4 to 6 suspects, and 7 or 8 in supported Classic Whodunit cases
  • Rookie, Investigator and Mastermind, where the mystery type supports them
  • Rooms Only, Spatial, Coordinate and Furnished floor plans
  • A Puzzle, an Investigation and a Solution page for every case
  • Structured book pages, page numbers, solution placement and nine trim sizes

Optional upgrades add more Artwork Styles, book content in German, Spanish, French and Italian, your own fonts, a Table of Contents and an editable PowerPoint package.

The same case's Solution page, as generated

Every case: three pages, generated together

  1. Cluevora Puzzle page: Murder at Kestrel House, a lettered and numbered floor plan of four rooms, five suspect portraits and four clues.

    01

    Puzzle

The case, the scene, the suspects and the clues — and nothing that gives the answer away.

  2. The same case's Investigation page: suspect checkboxes, a positions grid, lines for key deductions and a final theory box.

    02

    Investigation

A worksheet for the reader: mark suspects, place them on the grid and commit to a theory.

  3. The same case's Solution page: the murderer named, the proven placements, the clues used, the solved plan and the reasoning step by step.

    03

    Solution

The murderer named, the solved plan, and the reasoning step by step, citing the clues.

Four Artwork Styles, one mystery

  • The plan of the same case in the Classic Print Artwork Style.
    Classic Print
  • The plan of the same case in the Clean Modern Artwork Style.
    Clean Modern
  • The plan of the same case in the Vintage Artwork Style.
    Vintage
  • The plan of the same case in the Noir Artwork Style.
    Noir

The same plan in each style: the look changes, the logic does not. Classic Print is included; Clean Modern, Vintage and Noir come with an optional upgrade.

Puzzle logic

Built around verified puzzle logic — not random clue dumping

Drawing a puzzle page is the easy part. The mystery has to actually work — and that is the part Cluevora does for you, in this order, for every case, in every tool.

1. It builds the case

Every case starts from a structured answer — who was where, and who did it. The puzzle is built backwards from that answer.

2. It writes the clues

Each clue comes from the case itself, so every clue is true of it, and the clues agree with each other.

3. It checks the logic

A solver works through the clues together, confirming the case can be solved from what is printed on the page. Difficulty levels are designed to need real reasoning steps, not a lucky guess.

4. It verifies the answer

Where the mystery calls for one murderer, the clues must lead to exactly one suspect: the intended one.

5. Then it goes into your book

Only a case that passes is placed in your book, with its Solution page written from the same solved case.

Cases are designed and validated to preserve the intended solution logic. As with any book, review your pages before you publish.

Bulk Production

Optional upgrade

Build a whole book's worth of cases in one batch

Set the batch once — mystery types, difficulty and map style, each fixed or mixed — and Bulk Production builds the cases one after another, checks every one, and adds them to your book with their Puzzle, Investigation and Solution pages.

  • Presets of 25, 50, 75 or 100 cases, or any number up to 100
  • Mix mystery types, difficulties and map styles across the batch
  • Keeps building in the background while you work
  • Every case is checked like any other

Each case is generated and checked in turn, so a large batch takes time — it is not instant.

Bulk Production comes with an optional upgrade. What each upgrade includes

Kids Mystery Edition

Optional upgrade

Create mystery books for young detectives

A studio of its own for children's mystery books: three age groups, five kid-friendly mystery types, colorful maps and characters, and clues worded for each age — every case checked to have exactly one answer.

  • Ages 6–8, 8–10 and 10–12, each with its own clue count and wording
  • Missing Item, Who Took It?, Classroom Mystery, Pet Mystery and Lost Treasure
  • Title page, how-to pages, contents and answer pages, assembled for you
  • Color, Grayscale or true Black & White, in four trim sizes
  • Export a PDF, a PNG ZIP or an editable PowerPoint package

Kids books are written in English.

Kids Mystery Edition comes with an optional upgrade. What each upgrade includes

Book Cover Studio

Optional upgrade

Design the paperback cover, too

Lay out a full-wrap paperback cover — back, spine and front — at the exact size for your trim and page count, with the bleed, the guides and the spine width worked out for you.

  • Full-wrap paperback covers for the same nine trim sizes
  • Spine width from your page count, interior and paper
  • Editable text, shapes, your own images and built-in mystery illustrations, as layers
  • Export a print-ready PDF or a 300 DPI PNG

Paperback covers only — no hardcover or ebook covers. Book Cover Studio needs a window at least 1200 pixels wide.

Book Cover Studio comes with an optional upgrade. What each upgrade includes

An example cover made for this page, exported at 300 DPI

Customize Cast

Optional upgrade

Give every book its own cast

Name your suspects, note their occupations and choose or upload their portraits. Cluevora still builds the case, decides the culprit and checks the logic — your cast simply plays the parts.

  • Short names, up to 10 characters, never duplicated
  • A built-in portrait, or your own image (PNG, JPG or WebP)
  • Used by every new case in the book: Generate, Regenerate and Bulk Production
  • Occupations are kept with your cast for reference; they are not printed

Customize Cast comes with an optional upgrade. What each upgrade includes

A case generated with that cast

Workflow and exports

From Studio to publishing-ready files

Cluevora keeps the whole book in view — cases, book pages, order and design — then exports files shaped for print.
  1. 01

Pick the settings from simple controls — no prompts to write — and generate checked cases.

  2. 02

    Review

Read every page and regenerate any case you want to replace.

  3. 03

    Build

Add book pages, reorder cases, set page numbers and choose where the solutions go.

  4. 04

    Export

Download a print-ready PDF of the whole book, or every page as an image in a PNG ZIP.

  5. 05

    Publish

Upload your files to the platform you sell on, under that platform's own requirements.

The whole book or a single page, with every page rendered at 300 DPI.

Every page as its own 300 DPI image, in one ZIP.

  • PowerPoint package

An editable deck with the font files to install — with an optional upgrade.

Interiors print at their exact trim with no bleed, with KDP-oriented margins and a gutter that follows the book's page count. Read the guide to mystery puzzle books for Amazon KDP.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What you get, what each optional upgrade adds, and what everything costs — all here.
What do I get when I purchase Cluevora for $27?

Your $27 one-time purchase is Cluevora Core: the Mystery Puzzle Studio with all four mystery types, difficulty levels and map styles where each type supports them, 4 to 6 suspects (7 or 8 in supported Classic Whodunit cases), Puzzle, Investigation and Solution pages, structured book pages, page numbers and solution placement, project save and reload, English book content in the Classic Print Artwork Style, PDF and PNG ZIP export, and commercial-use rights. Bulk Production, the Table of Contents, your own fonts, book content in four more languages, the Clean Modern, Vintage and Noir styles, the editable PowerPoint package, Kids Mystery Edition, Book Cover Studio and Customize Cast are shown on this page too, but they are not part of the $27 purchase: they come with the optional upgrades below.

Are there optional upgrades?

Yes — two, and both are optional one-time purchases. Publisher Pro (+$20) is offered after Core and adds Bulk Production (up to 100 cases per batch), a Table of Contents, your own fonts, book content in German, Spanish, French and Italian, the Clean Modern, Vintage and Noir Artwork Styles and the editable PowerPoint package. Expansion Vault (+$50) is offered after Publisher Pro and adds Kids Mystery Edition, Book Cover Studio and Customize Cast.

What is included in Expansion Vault?

Three tools, unlocked by one purchase: Kids Mystery Edition, Book Cover Studio and Customize Cast. They work while the same email also has Core and Publisher Pro — Expansion Vault on its own, or without Publisher Pro, does not unlock them.

How much does the complete Cluevora package cost?

$27 + $20 + $50 = $97 in total, when you accept both optional upgrades: Core, then Publisher Pro, then Expansion Vault. Each is a one-time payment.

Do I need to purchase every upgrade?

No. Core works on its own, and both upgrades are optional — you can decline them during checkout. Publisher Pro can also be added later from your account.

Is there a recurring subscription?

No. Every Cluevora purchase is a one-time payment — Core and each optional upgrade. There are no recurring charges.

Can I publish Cluevora books on Amazon KDP?

Yes. Paid Cluevora access includes commercial-use rights, and Cluevora prepares publishing-oriented files suitable for Amazon KDP workflows.

Is Cluevora only for Amazon KDP?

No. KDP is only one publishing option. Cluevora can also be used to create mystery puzzle books, printables, digital downloads, educational puzzle products and client work for other commercial publishing channels, including marketplaces such as Etsy, subject to each platform’s own requirements.

Can I use Cluevora outputs commercially?

Yes. Every paid purchase includes commercial-use rights: you may publish and sell the eligible finished books you make — in print or digital, on Amazon KDP or other platforms — and Cluevora takes no share of your sales. You may not resell or share Cluevora itself or your login, or sell the included artwork, portraits, Kids characters or cover illustrations as standalone files, and anything you upload must be yours to use. Whether a marketplace accepts a book is that marketplace's decision. Trial content is for evaluation only. Commercial Use summary

What are the system and export requirements?

Cluevora runs in a web browser on a laptop or desktop computer: the Mystery Puzzle Studio needs a window at least 900 pixels wide and Book Cover Studio at least 1200 — creating on a phone is not supported. Your work is kept in that browser, and the Mystery Puzzle Studio can also save a project backup file. The Studio exports a print-ready PDF and a PNG ZIP, with pages rendered at 300 DPI, plus an editable PowerPoint package with Publisher Pro. Kids Mystery Edition exports a PDF, a PNG ZIP and a PowerPoint package. Book Cover Studio makes paperback full-wrap covers only — no hardcover or ebook covers — as a print-ready PDF or a 300 DPI PNG.

What is the refund policy?

Digital product — access is delivered immediately. All sales are final once access has been granted, except where required by applicable law or platform and payment rules. This applies to Cluevora and to every optional upgrade. Refund Policy

Does Cluevora store my books?

No. Your book is stored in your own browser, on your device, and is not uploaded to Cluevora. Save a project backup file from the Studio to keep a copy or move to another computer.

Can I try Cluevora first?

Yes, free and with no credit card. Sign in with your email to generate up to 3 mysteries with 4 to 6 suspects, in English and Classic Print, and export 1 watermarked PDF. Trial content is for evaluation only.

Why do some options change or disappear when I change the Case Size or Mystery Type?

Cluevora automatically adjusts the available settings based on the selected configuration. Some Difficulty levels, Map Styles, and other options may become unavailable when a particular combination is not currently supported or would reduce puzzle quality, readability, or page fit. This is intentional. Cluevora only exposes combinations that have been designed and tested to produce balanced, solvable mysteries with clean layouts and without unnecessary overflow or formatting problems.
